WAIHI MINE ACCIDENT.
VEKDIOT OF THE CORONER'S JURY. By Telegraph—Press Association. W Alii I, December 12. The Coroner's enquiry into the circumstances of tho death of Thomas Henry Boxall, who died on the 7th iust. from injuries received in the fuse-firing explosion in the Waihi mine on November 13tb, was resumed to-day. Evidenua taken on aocount of the death of William Gray, who received fatal iujuries in the same accilont, was endorsed. The following verdict was returned"That Buxall met with his death through an accident which happened on November 13th in No. 2 shaft on the Waihl mine." A rider was added by the jury, as follows:—"That deceased's death was indireotly due to the assistant engineer's cutting off the supply of oompressed air, and failing to warn the wen in the Bhaft that such would be out off, but we have unanimously agreed that, had the assistant engineer been notified that ordinary fuse instead of elec trio power was being used to fire the holes in this abaft, this aocident would not have oooarred, and •so mußt find ' noth management and the assistant engineer guilty of negligence."
