Ooppins, a oabinefcmaker, had a marvellous escape from death, this evening, iu Hobson Street. lie ran across the tram lines and when he had just crossed turned to run back, and slipped directly in front of a oar Koiug up Hobaon Street, lhe child was knocked down, and passed under tne lifeguard. To the astonishment of onlookors,when pioked up from under- the oar, ne was alive, end with the exception of a few bruises was uninjured.
