DEFENCE OF BRITAIN.
Received December 13, 9.33 a.m; LONDON, December 12. Viscount Wolseley, ex-Commander-in-Chief, in a letter to Earl Wemyss, laments that the nation regards as Cassandras those experts who assert that Britain requires a strong army to repel invasion. He hopes that when defeat comes tlae nation will rend those "jawers" who pi evented precautions being taken.
