WAIRARAPA GUN CLUB.
A meeting of the Wairarapa Gun Club was held, Ifcst evening, Mr A. P. Whatman presiding. The Secretary produced a balance sheet to date showing the receipts to have been £55 2s fid, and the expenditure £sl 5s Id, leaving a credit baianoo of £3 17 sd, Mr Thoe. Duncan tendered his resignation as secretary of the Club. Tbe resignation was aocorted with regret, and Mr E. H. Wnddington was appointed secretary pro tern. Owing to the general aousensus of opinion being ageinst pigeon shooting, it was suggested that the uext "shoot" should tak? the form of sparrow shooting in tbe open fields on some Thursday afternoon. . The "shoot." it was pointed out, would be a sweepstake, and tbe prize would go to the person shooting tho most sparrows during tbe afternoon. It was'decided to meet again next Wednesday evening to further, consider the matter.
