MASTERTON MOUNTED RIFLES.
A meeting of the ootmnittee of the Masterton Mounted Rifles was held on Saturday evening to complete arrangements for the forthcoming camp, which is to be held at Castlepoint from January 6th to 13th, 1907. , ./ It was decided to hold a military sporis meeting on January l'Jfch next, and the following programme was drawn up:-—Troopers' Race, 100 yards (drill order); Needle Threading (open); Under and Over Race (open); Lloyd Lindsay Competition; Mounting and Dismounting; over hurdles (open); Ladies' Nail-driv-ing; Squads Competition, rifle exeioises in fours; Novel Raoe, walk, trot and gallop (open); Wrestling on Horseback; Tug of War on Horseback (teams); Troopers' Halfmile Flat Raoe (open only to horses ridden by troopers during full period of camp); Open Flat Race, 6 furlongs, minimum weight 10at. The Corps will leave for Castlepoint on Sunday morning, January 6th, and will go right through in the one day, returning to Mastertqn on the following Sunday. In connection with the new dress uniforms it has been decided to procure white helmets with blue band.
