BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES.

SYDNEY, November 23.

The half-yearly meeting of the Bank of New South Wales was held to-day. The net profits amounted to £130,115, wberito waa added £22,618 from the preceding half year. A dividend of 10 per centum waa declared. Twenty-five thousand pounds was added to the Reserve Fund, and £27,733 carried forward. Tbe Chairman said that the pastoral and agiicultaial interests in fche oouatiy were in a very flourish ing condition, and the prospects were very favourable this season. He referred 'with regret to the burning of the Bank's* new premises at Wellington.

BROKEN HILL MINERS,

At a confereue of the Managers' Association and the miners at Broken irlill an agreement was arrived at whereby the miners will receive an increase of wages approximating 15 per centum.

THE LAND SCANDALS.

Received November 23, '11.43 p.m. SYDNEY, November 23. After making bis statement of defence, W. P. Crick, who is charged with conspiracy in conneotion with the land scandals, west into tbe wit □ess box and swore that from neither Peter Close, W.'N. Willis, Bath, or an other land-agent bad he.ever received a penny as a politician or Minister. In cross-examination he gave lengthy details as to bis land administration, banking, and bettipg affairs. W. N Willis, in bis statement, said.that he never conspired, made any arrangement, or paid money to any of the defendants. |Be olaimed that he conducted a legitimate land agenoy business. Bath, in his statement, denied having given any money reueived for land business to Crick or anyone else.

Tbe hearing of the case was adjourned till Monday.

GOLDFISH FOR THE EXHIBITION.

Received November 23, 11,35 p.nj. [SFDNEf,, November 23. By tbe steamer Yawatamaru a consignment of goldfish arrived from Japan for the Christohuroh Exhibition. Eleven tubs were shipped, but, owing to mortality on tbe voyage,'[the number was reduo'ed to six tubs. 'lhey are very fine specimens of tbe double-tailed variety, and will bo de&patohed to New Zealand to-morrow by the Alonowai.
