THE NEW TARIFF. . Received November 22, 8.30 a.m. OTTAWA, November 21. Tbe ?Hon. Mr Fielding, Minister of Finance, speaking at Montreal, said the new tariff would be ready |or presentation during the first furtnight of the session. It was unlikely that it would satisfy extremists, but it would meet with tbe people's approve 1 . It retained preference 'for the Motherland and contained dutiesgapplionble to countries discriminating against Canada.
