Received November 22, 9.24 a.m. LONDON, November 21. ,The authorities at Genoa detained the Newcastle steamer Briardale for twenty months pending the settlement of a lawsuit. When nonsuited the authorities appealed against the verdict. Captain Henderson thereupon became so disgusted at tbe delays that he engaged a crew and suddenly steamed out ot the harbour during a terrific xthunderstorm, the authorities vainly following the steamer in a boat. The Briardale is in the Tyne.
