SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.

ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND.

AUCKLAND, November 19,

Tbe Ventura, from San Franoisoo, arrived at 10.30 p.m. yesterday. She had a fine weather passage, whioh occupied tweuty days twenty-three hours. The passengers are:—Saloon: Mr and Mrs Mills and maid, Mr and Mrs Luke, Mr and Mrs Rangibanton, Mesdames Laugmuir, Stearns, Leadbetter, Honeyfleld, Kapken, Misses Shand, JRapken, Mesais Keller, Whitehead, Thomson, Schwartz, Porter, Simmonds, Hardie, aohlesinger. Second Saloon: Mr and Mrs Rutledge, Mesdama Jones and Keller, Misseß Hansen and Rosser, Messrs Bowles, Oullen, Jnokman, Keintelmann, Hannan, Chrtstenson, Knapp, Houston, Jenkins, Dee, Ellis, and Green; and eignt steerage.

In h'.fl advioe to the Secretary or the General Post Offloe, the mail agent states that' the Ventura was plaoed in dry dook in San Franoieoo, and underwent extensive repairs to her maohinery. As the vessel was not ready for sea, the mails were not plaoed on board until 2 p.m. on October 26th. A start was made from the San Francisco wharf at 8.1 p.m. on 27th and Honolulu was rrade on 3rd November. The voyage was resumed next morning, Fagopago being readied on i'2th November, and Auckland pilot ground at 9.19 on Sunday night The time ocoapied on the voyage was 508 hours. The weather was fine, and the best day's run was 323 milea. The ■ slowest day's steaming was 266 miles. The delay on the voyage is attributed to bad coal and inetUoient labourers in the engineers' department. The Masterton portiun of the mail will arrive this evening by the last train from the North.
