OBITUARY.
MR D. W. MqINTOSH. The death occurred at 6.45 o'clock, last evening, of Mr Duncan William Mcintosh, a very old and highly respected resident of Masterton. Till quite recently the deceased enjoyed good health. Last week he was seized with an attack of influenza and erysipelas supervened, causing death. The deceased was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England, in 1812. tie arrived in Auckland on Ndvember sth, 1862. He went through the war against the Maoris in the Waikato as a telegraphist,* and experienced some exciting times. Some yearß alter be came to Masterton, and joined Mr J. lorns, who oarried on business in Queen Street. Mr Mcintosh was afterwards appointed seoretary of the W.F.G.A., uud retained the position until a few years ago, when he retired on account of ill-health. A widow, three sons (Messrs Malcolm, Douglas and Harold Mcintosh) and one daughter, ire left to mourn their loss. They will have the sympathy of a very large oircle of friends. The funeral will take place, tomorrow, at 2.30 o'clock. MR EXONALD McPHEE. Mr Donald McPhee, an old resident of the Wairarapa, died at the residence of hie son-in-law, Mr John Strang, Glehside, Gladstone, on Wednesday evening, after an attack of influenza. The deceased, who was 79 years of age, was born at Looh Aline, near Oban, Argyleahire, Sootland. He came to New Zealand in 1853. He settled down at Greytown, and afterwards bought a property at Oarterton. He then bought a place at Opaki, where he Resided for some years. Five sons and two daughters are left to mnarn their loss. Mrs McPhee died about 23 years ago.
