BOROUGH WATER SUPPLY.
The committee, appointed by the Masterton Borough Council to consider the question of the charges to be made for the supply of water to persons outside tbe Borough,'met last evening. There were present:— Ors Feist (ohairman), Temple, and Ewington. After a general discussion on the subjeot it was deoidod, on tbe motion of Or Ewington, "That with a view to making fresh arrangements three months' notice of the discontinuance of the supply of water to persons outside the Borough be given, the notice to terminate on Maroh 31st, 1907." It was then decided that tbe new arrangement for the supply of water outside the Borough should ba as follows:—To oharge by meter only; that the price for tbe supply should be 4d per thousand gallons; that the meters to measure the supply be provided by tbe Council, and the persons to whom the water is supplied be charged a meter rente 1 of Is per month; that tbe cost of providing the meters be paid by the owners, the fixing to be done by the Borough Engineer. The Engineer was authorised to prooure two dozen meters.
