NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.
By Telegraph—Press Association. OHRISTGHURCH, Nov. 13. Sir John (J or at entertained tbe Maoris aud Cook Islanders at the Exhibition Pa at luncheon, to-day. Tbe natives bad previously entertained him, and he has -returned their kindness. Sir John presided, and amongst those present weie:— Captain Atkm (British Commissioners Miss Goist, Mr A. Hamilton (designer of the Pa), Mr McGregor of the Pa), and Mrs McGregor. Sir John Gorst delivered an address in Maori, and be proposed the toast o" the King. This was heartily responded to, and several chiefs replied to the toast. At tbe conclusion, Sir John Goret and his daughter presented each man with a pipe, and each woman with a worttbox, and each child with a box of sweets. The Hon. Hall- Jones arrived this morning, and has tauen charge of the Exhibition duties as Resident Minister. Colonel Bauobop has received a telegram from tbe Governor expressing his satisfaction with tbe way in whioh tbe oeremony of the trooping of the colours was performed on the opening day of the Exhibition.
