A VENTURESOME VOYAGE.
There is at present under construction at Whangarei, New Zealand, a small vessel of unique design in whioh a man namej Wil llama intends to circumnavigate ';he sporid. In appearance the hoat is like an elongated tank with each end tapering away to a sharp poi"t. It is contended that the boat will be equal to the demands made upon it by tempestuous seas and winds, as there will be nothing but a smooth curved surface exposed. The craft is 30ft long, and hes a beam of 7ffc 6in, with 4in of lead attached. Therw is ample room inside to accommodate two Demons, and for storing six months supply of water and provisions. It is calculated thHt she will draw 3ft 6in. Ketoh rig will be adopted, comprising jib, stay, main, and mizzen sails. A couple of small battens will be attached to the deckhead to provido a grip, and a strong net will be placed on each side as some protection. The owner hopes to reach the Christahurch Exhibition about Christmas time, calling at Auokland, Gisbnrne, Napier, and Wellington on the way.
