CHURCH AND STATE. Received November 12, 8.51 a.m. PARIS, November 11. The Chamber of Deputies, by 376 votes to 98, resolved to placard the speech of M. Briand, Minister of Public Worship, indicating that the Roman Catholic Church would have the same enjoyed by all others, but nothing beyond, and that the Pope recognised that the Concordat had been abolished, inasmuch as he had appointed new bishops, which he was un'able to do under the Concordat.
