CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 12
At the Supreme Court to-day, Robert McCarthy, convicted of escaping from Hanmer prison camp, and breaking and entering the stable of William R. Campbell and stealing a saddle and bridle "and brooch, was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment on each of the two charges, the terms to run concurrently, ond the sentence to come into effect at the conclusion of the period of imprisonment now being served. John Yeoman Pascoe was convicted of having at Greymouth unlawfully used an instrument with intent to procure miscarriage, and was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment.
