EKETAHUNA COUNTY COUNCIL.

(From Our Own Correspondent). The monthly meeting of the Eketahuna County Ooanoil was held on Saturday. There were present:—Ors Moss (chairman), Redpatb, Pitoaithiey, Dorney Bnd Dawson. Messrs Larsen waited on the Council and asked permission to raise a loan of the sum of £3OO to build a bridge. It was decided to inairuot the Olerk to take the neoesaary steps to rbise the loaD. The Minister of Kail ways wrote stating that be oould not reduce the cost of maintenance asked for in connection wjth the propcsed footbridge joining the rail way bridge. Mr Blake wrote asking to be allowed the lease of a small reserve at Hnkanui. It was resolved to reply that applications would be called for that section when the present lease expired. Mr Sheean wrote complaining of the state of the drains and culverts adjacent to his property. This matter was left to the overseer. A deputation from the Eketahuna Town Board waited on the Council and asked that the Council fix a date with a view to arriving at a settlement of affairs between the two bodies. The matter was defwrred. Tenders were opened for the timber on Bell's Road, and the Manga tainoba Road to Waterson's. It was decided to give the highest tenderer the option of taking the timber at*a price fixed by the Council. It was agreed to return the £6 deposited by the Martina settlers as the Kopikipekoko, Road loan cab be raised by petition. Mr W. Nelson was appointed ranger. It was decided that the owners of stock which were foand wandering on the County roads should be summoned. It was farther deoided to put a notice in the papers to that effect. It was deoided to call tenders for » supply of dog collars.
