FIRST DA Y. (Special Reporter).""" The Taratahi-Carterton Racing Club opened their annual meeting on Saturday,. The weather was flne f and the course was in good order, despite Friday's rain. There was a fairly large atteadahce uf the publio. The racing generally was of an interesting character. The eum of £6,548 was put through the totalisator, as against £6,621 for the corresponding last year, being a decrease of £73. Mr J. B. JBairstow had all the arrangements complete for the meetng, and he was ably assisted by the Stewards of the club The results are as follow:
