Received November 5, 10.16 p.m. OTTAWA, November 5. Speaking at a banquet at Ottawa iu honour of the birthday of the Mikado of Japan, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, the Premier, remarked that as Japanese tea was in nearly every Canadian household, he hoped that Canadian food products would soon be on every Japanese table. He expected that the Commercial Convention, which had just concluded, would produce extensive trade between Canada and Japan.
