OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.
The monthly competitions of the Opaki Quoits Club was held at Mr MoLeod's Mill on Saturday. There was a strong wind blowing, and the weather was anything but pleasant. The was, however, a good attendance of members, and, in addition to the ordinary match, the June match, which was postponed on account of the unfavourable weather,was played. One match was won by H. Hunt, with A. Petersen second and J. Campbell third. H. Hunt also won the other match with J. Clone second ufld J. Campbell 'third. The ladies played for Mr Wyeth's trophy, fifteen ladies taking part in the competition. This was 1 won by Mrs Wyetb, with Miss M. Campbell second. Mrs Wyeth has duuated a trophy for competition at the next monthly match. At the afternoon tea adjournment, Mr Wyeth, President, presented Mr Searle with Mr Pringle's trophy. He mentioned that Mr Boyd had donated another trophy for the ladies. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Boyd for his generosity. A vote of thanks was also passed to the ladies for supplying 'afternoon tea. The following is the second drawing for Messrs Krahagen and Chapman's trophy, to be played off ty November 12th:—J. Campbell,junr., plays E. Petersen, H. Ohristonsen plays A. Petersen, T. Wyeth plays P. Stevenson, S. Blewett plays J. Campbell, S. Taukersley plays R. Tankorsley, N. Wyeth plays J. Clune.
