GLADSTONE.

(From Oar Own Correspondent). Friday. The weather for the last few weeks haa been very bad on growing crops, and if rain does not soon come crops will suffer considerably. A large number 6f farmers from here were exhibitors at the Carterton Show, and were very well up in the prize lists. A large number ot the freezing sheep and fat bullocks were from the celebrated Tupurupuru Station, and their appearance reflected the greatest credit on the manager, Mr A. Clark. Protective works are now being put in the Euamahanga River, near the Gladstone Hotel. The river at this part has been encroaching considerably on the western bank of late, but it should now be kept 111 check by the groins that are being put in.
