MASTERTON GYMNASIUM.
Competitions between teams choseo from the classes at the Mastorlon Gymnasium were held io the Gymnasium last evening. The ladies and men were divided into two sections, viz., A and B, and the points were awarded iu exeroisea of various descriptions. It has Wm < decided to bold similar competitions at frequent intervals during next season, in the various exercises the members showed considerable ability It is expected that the members «f the ladies team will give a good aocount of themselves against the Wellington ladies next weolr. The A team of ladies defeated the B team of ladies, and the J8 team of wen beat the A team of man. Supper was provided by -the Indies, after which a short and enjoyable dnuce was held. Meadamus Fuller and Wintringbnm were the chaperons. The results of the cotujiolitions were as follow: Ladies.—A team: Miss O. Wintriugham 22%, Mies E. Chapman 19, Miss O. Kiohards 18, Miss K. Fraser 21, Mies G. Smiih 12%, Miss V. Carpenter 10%, Miss J. Maokay 10%; total, 114%. B teaai: Miss M. Smith 18%, Miss M. Wiatringham 21, Kisa E. Church 19>£, Mias L. Praser 19, Miss F, Reaidon 14%, Miss R. Hooper 11%, Miss J. Hogg 9%; total, 114. Men.—B team: B. ,-Donald 21%, J. Dignan 20, W. Williams 19%, J. Cole 16%, B. Turvey 11, 0. J. Maokellar 14, W. KauniEter 10%, R. Laugdon 12%, D. Walßh 11%, A. Jobansen 13; total, 153%. A team: J. Bradbury 17%, S. Hogg 18%, W. Muir 17%, A. 8.-WII- - 17%, J. Eut whistle 13%, K. MoKenzie 14%, J. B. Brown 15, A, R. Potter 11, A. Miller 9%, B. Waddington 13%; total, 117. The judges were Messrs A. JewißS and A., C. Williams.
