AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

Tbe annual meeting of the members of tbe Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club was held #ast evening. Mr J. U. Elliot occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance. „ The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. Tbe election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron, Rev. A. M. Johnson; Presi - dent, Mr C. A. Pownall; Vice-Presi-dents, Messrs W. B. Obennells, J. G. Elliot, Dr Cowie and. Rev. Dean MoKenna; Committee, Messrs S. A. Noble-Campbell, J. Bradbury, F. E. Robertson, J. 3. Kelliher, E. Dixon, A. Williams, J. Fish and A. E. Wilton; Seoretary, Mr V. G. Darroob; Treasurer, Mr G. Sellar; Auditors, .Messrs W. D. Croft and W. Perry. | It was deoided to recommend the committee to put a championship race for schoolboys oh tbe programme of the next sports gathering, with a view to fostering an amateur athletic spirit in the public schools. It was further deoided to write to tho Headmasters of tbe schools in the district with reference to the matter. -—jffll It was resolved to hold the unuual sports gathering on January 22nd and to bave an evening run about three weeks hence. Messrs R. McKenzie, W. Uren, C. Schubert and Dr Cowie were elected members of the club.
