QUEENSLAND DEFEATED

The weather was Quo and warm aud the attendance good. | The greeu was in fair order. New \ Zealand wou by 184 to 168. \ The seoros were as follows:—As- | mond, Unnkin, Gardner, Boaskill | (New Zealand), beat Tully, Mo- ! Gavin, Coleman, Bouchard, 33 to 23. Durie, Soott, Buchanan, McLaren (New Zealand), tied with McMillan, Lang, Robinson, Qninlan, 21 to 21. Bastings, Hancock, Keast, Sneddon '(New Zealand), beat Davidson, Myers, Logan, Wbitehouse, 41 to 10. Douoberty, Soltmarsh Verney, Ovorell beat Lefevre, Wattera, Dall, Mowlem (New Zealand), 32 to 17. Irving, Hewitt, Browu, Meudoza (Queensland), beat Wheeler, Akhurar, Uillies, Manning (New Zealand), 29 to 18. Keid, Short, Stuith, Payne (Now Zealand), beat Southern, Hodgson, Orchard, Keid, 32 to 25. Streer, Steel, Gould, Oopeland (Queensland), beat Bee, MoGibboo, Taylor, Waddell (New Zealand), 28 to 24. The visitors were in good form, and opened strongly. Ou the fifth head they were 11 points ahead. On the tenth head Quoenslaad held the visitors, who gained only une point, the scores being New Zealand 85, Queensland 73. Ihe Queeuslanders thou bogau a forward move, and ou the twentieth head worn three points behind. Their opponents, howover, checked their move and gradually drew away, aud won by 16 1 points. The winners, who wore heartily congratulated, concluded I with a Muori war cry. The visitots, J to-nigbt, were entertained by the i Queensland Association at dinner.
