GENEROUS GIFTS.

Mr Andrew Carnegie, who tho other day informed tbe Scottish public bodies that, hj« intended to distribute £55,000,000, during his lifetime for the benefit of humanity, has given £IO,OOO to build an additional St. Andrew's University Library, and £IO,OOO for a physical laboratory at tho University College at Dundee.
