HOCKEY.
The Huia (Wellington) ladies' hookey oltb visited Masterton, yesterday, and played a match in the forenoon against the Kaupo team, in Fraser'a Paddock. The game, which was a very interesting and keenly contested one, resulted in a draw, each side sooring one goal. Miss V, Carpenter scored a goal for the Ranpos, and Mis? Harrison for Wellington. The best players for tie Raupos were Misses Deane, M. Easthope, Heyhoe, Harnett and Sptokinnn. Of the Wellington team Misses Hart, Clarke, Jones and were thb pick. In the afternoon tbe visitors were driven by the bome team to Te Whiti, wboro a pionio was held, and a very enjoyable time spout. The visitors speak in glowing tenns of tbe hospitality of the bome team. Tbe Wellington ladies returned home by tbe 5.30 p.m. train.
