LABOUR DAY AT NEW PLYMOUTH.
THE GOVERNOK'S VISIT. By Telegraph—Preas Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, October 10. The initial Labour Day demonstration in New Plymouth passed off successfully, the trades displays being very creditable. A subsequent attraction was a garden party in the Recreation Ground, where the Governor was officially welcomed. The function was a spectacular and financial success, over 4,000 being present. 'His Excellency visited the Hospital, Old People's Home, freezing works, harbour works and petroleum bores, Jwhere a successful demonstration was made. He also inspected the Taranaki war veterans.
