The club will hold a speoial meeting in the Occidental Hotel, at •8 o'clock, on Thursday evening.
MASTERTON CRICKET COUNCIL. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Masterton Cricket Council was held in Mr W. B. Ohonnells' office last evening. There were Messrs Qaiwey (in tho ohniri, Perry, Redmond, MoKellar, BewJey, Collinge, Dugarde, Uren, Darroob and F. P. Welch. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr Galwoy was elected chairman for the ensuing year, Mr P. P. Welch secretary and treasurer, and Mr 0. Perry auditoi. The chairman reported that the Park Committee had decided to allow the Park Oval to be used for cricket during the ensuing season at a rental of £l2 10s. He moved thai tho terms be accepted, the amount to be paid equally between the Saturday and Thursday Clubs. The motion was seconded by Mr Collinge and carried. The chairman moved ''that a levy be made of 30s lor every senior club and 15s for uvory junior club practising and playing matches on the Ova!." Mr Perry seconded the motion, which was oarriod. Mr Bewley moved that tho amount levied be paid forthwith. Carried. Messrs Galwoy, Collinco and Uren wore elected a ground committee. MASTERTJN THURSDAY ASSOCIATION. A committee meeting of tho Masterton Thursday Cricket Association waa hold in "Mr W. B. Chennelle' Office last evening. There were present— Messrs E. Collinge (chairman), Galwey, Darrooh, Uran, Dugarde, P. P. Welch, Mauusell and Hart. It was decided that teamß fce nominated for competition on or before Monday, Ootober lotb. Mr Maunsell, on behalf of the Carterton Club, asked the committee if they could see their way to reoomruend the Association to reconsider their deoision in regard to not playing any matches outside of Mastorton. It was decided to call a special general meeting of members of the\ Association on Monday, Ootober Bth, to consider the matter. The Chairman presented Mr Maunsell with the ball won by him for the best bowling average. Mr Maunsell'a average read:—Overs 80, wickets 43, runs 139, average 4.39. Votes of thanks to Mt W. U. Chennells for the use of the room and the Chairman concluded the meetiug. TbeY.M.O.A. cricket team have decided to open their season on Wednesday night with a social to which all members and intending members are cordially invited. The souial will commence at 7.30 o'ulouk. All "musical members" are re quested to bring thoir mnsfc. It has been decided to invite the captains and secretaries of other clubs to bo present at the opening.
