Reoeived September 28, 8.10 a.m. NEW YORK, Sept 27. Mr Charles Hughes, a lawyer, has been nominated as the Republican candidate for the Governorship of New York State, and the Democrats have nominated Mr W. R. Hearst, tbe champion of municipal ownership. The newspapers report extraordinary scenes at his meetings, owing to his allianoa with Mr Murphy, a Tammany leader. A serious Democratic split is expeoted. I Mr Jerome, the Democratic District Attorney, supports Mr Hughes.
