TARARUA RIFLE CLUB.

The Tararua Rifle Clut opened the soason, on Saturday, when a soratoh match waa tired hetween teams seleoted by the Oaptaiu and ViceCaptain, and resulted iu a win for the former by nine points. After noon tea was provided by the ladies, and was much appreuinted. The club has jagfc been Gazetted under the and there ia every indication of the club having a prosperous future. The officers and men are enthusiastic riflemen. Mr 0. Alburthsen, the president, of the ciub, and Captain Bell, take a keen iuterost in the affairs of the olub. it is, understood that a member of the club intends to present a handsome silver cup for competition; the cup to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. The olub a number of trophies to oompete for this season. The following were the Bcorea registered in the match on Saturday:—
