PONGAROA.

(From Our Own Oorrespondeont). \ Friday. A special meeting of Makakahi was held on Tuesday evening. There were 45 members present. The following atttended—--0.R., Bro. Anderson; 5.0. R., Bro. Doyle; S.W., Bro. Bedding; J.W., Bro. Fauvel; 5.8., Bro. Greathead J. 8., Bro. Wallace; Secretary, Bro. Wise; Treasurer, Bro. Doyle. The visiting Brothers present were—Bro. Condor (Leeds, England), Bro. Grey (Court Wireka, New Plymouth), / Bro. Anderson (Court Kopuaranga, Maurioevllle). Eighteen new members were iniciated by O.R. Bro. Anderson, assisted by Bro. Corbiu. Nine more were proposed for initiation. Bro. Bedding read a paper entitled "An HistoricalSketoh of the Ancient Order of Foiestera, which was greatly appreciated. Be was aoooraed a hearty vote of thanks. Refreshments were provided. A number of songs were rendered during the evening. The music was supplied by Messrs Taylor (piano), McLean, (violin) and Pearoe (cornet). , We are enjoying splendid weather, »/ aad feed is getting very pentiful. A number of sections have changed hands in this district' lately, and good prices have been obtained. The local creamery is now receiving a fair quantity of milk for this time of the year.
