MAIL STEAMER ASHORE.
DUE JO A TIDAL PHENOMENA. Received September 18, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, September 18. The Pacific Mail Company's steamer Mongolia, from Hong Kong, is ashore at Midway Island, in the Pacific. The hull is pierced and the bow is resting on the rooks. Tho passengers have landed, and the cargo is being discharged into a lighter. Tho accident was due to a tidal phenomena. Tho value of her cargo far exceeds that of tho steamer Manchuria, which recently went ashore. The latter vessel has been refloated at a cost of two hundred sterling.
