SYDNEY, September 8. At the Tattersall'a meeting, ran at Randwiok on Saturday, the Rawson Stakes resulted:—Solution, 8.13, 1; Famous, 9.4, 2; Collarit, 7.9, 3. There were thirteen starters, including Maniapoto. Betting—"Two to 1 Maniapoto, 7to 2 Solution. The winner went to the front shortly after the start, and drawing away won eabily by eight length"). Maniapoto finished fourth. Time, lmin 54seo. r Received September 9, 5.25 p.m. ' SYDNEY, September % Solution's win is likely to instal her a warm favourite for the Metropolitan Handicap. The viotory of Pompous in the Tramway Handicap, beating Magazine, the favourite, with Hewitt up, entitles him to rank as first favourite for the Epsom Handioap.

SYDNEY, Septembr 8,
Royal Soot has been Heavily baoked for the iSpsom Handicap. Six thousand was taken in Sydney, and three thousand in Melbourne. The Wallace gelding has been backed down to 16 to 1.
