MASTERTON LICENSING COMMITTEE
QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Mas* terton Licensing Committee was held in the Master ton Courthouse, yesterday morning. There were present Messrs W. P. James (Chairman), J. Hessey, E. MoEwen, P. C. Turnor,. C. E. Daniell and F. Brigbt. The transfer of the lioense of the Mauriceville Hotel from Mr H. Hoffeins to Mr F. M. Rosa was approved of. Mr B. J. Dolan appeared for the applicant. The renewal of the lioense of the Te Nui Hotel, that had been held over from the annual meeting, was granted on condition that the improvements to the hotel as shown in the plans submitted by Mr D. K. Logan were efTeoted by the next quarterly meeting. The plans for the new Empire Hotel building were requested to be submitted to the special meeting of the Licensing Committee, to be held on October 4th. 'Mr JU. K. Logan, on behalf of Mr C. A. Pownall, appeared for the liaensee. Mr D. K. Logan,instructed by Mr 0. A. Pownall, submitted the plans foe the new Prince of Wales building. The plans were aocepted. Mr A. MoHutohon, represented by Mr D. K. Logan, was requested to submit plans for the re-building of the Wnakataki Hotel at the special meeting of the Committee on Ootober 4th. Constable Grey reported upon the conduot of the Railway Hotel, Eketahuna, and the licensee, Mr Robert Carter, was advised to exeroise greater care in the future. The Chairman asked the Health Qffloer, Mr H. Dorizac, to help the Committee in uonneotion with matters relating to the sanitary arrangements of hotels and mentioned that the Committee would support any recommendations of the Health Department.
