PHONETIC SPELLING.
THE AMERICAN INNOVATION. Received August 30, 8.44 a.m. NtiW ? ]YORK, August 29. I President Roosevelt has ordered i all the State departments to adopt the new spelling. Amongst tbejwords most criticised are "thru" for "through," "througout" for "throughout," and "k'st" for "kissed." Facetious advertisers are using the new spelling.
