STAR CRICKET CLUB.

ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the annual report of the Committee of the Star Cricket Club (Mesars S. R. Edwards, IJ. Egan, A. R. Chapman, G. h. Steward an 3 L. Kiohards): —■ In submitting the third annual report and balance-sheet for the season 1905r6 your Committee have pleasure in stating that the funds of the Club are in u good financial position, tbe balanoe-sheet showing a credit of £4 4s. The total cash received together with the amount brought forward from tbe previous season amounted to £37 7s, received <by subscription £l6 3b, the balance being made up by donations and the proceeds from the soaial. Out of this your ComKittee paH the sum of £33 6s Bd, the largest amoiint being paid for new cricketing Material, the sum of £ls 14s 6d being spent for same. The ohief items are Park fees £4 3s 4d, Association entry fees £1 15s, the balance being made up of various small items as shown in detail on the balance-sheet. The annual social of the Club was held in June, and proved a success both socially and financially, due to the assistance and interest of the ladies and the energy of Messrs Steward, Dnrrouh and Chapman. Thanks are due to the ladies and the gentlemen mentioned for their efforts, which are highly appreciated. We are able to inform you that we are not only ablp to meet all our liabilities, but have a credit balance to boot. Tbe best batting average in the Senior competition n: atchea was achieved by Mr A. Esson with a spleudid average of 25. This player also won tne batting j average of the Club, and was presented with Mr Murray's trophy. The bowling average in the Senior team was won by Mr S. R. Edwards, who albo seoured a trophy presented by Mr Lomas, of Wellington, for the best all-round player. Three teams were iu the field, and were entered for the Senior aud Junior, and although not successful m carrying off houours, some good cricket was played, and the scoring of the respective teams taken on the average was higher than the previous season. The best batting average iu the "B" and "C teams was won by Mr Truscott, and Mr McLean won the trophy presented by Mr S. R. Edwards for the best bowling average. In conclusion, your Committee desire to express their thanks to the Secretary, MrV. G. Darrocb, who at all times energetically in the interests of tbe Club, and who always carried out the many duties of his position In a most efficient and pleasant manner#
