QUOITS.

OPAKI CLUB. (Special to Age). The monthly competitions of the Opaki Quoit Club was held in Mr A. Chamberlain's padcTbck, atMikitniki, on Saturday. The attendance was about up to the usual standard, and a very enjoyable time was spent by those present. The Men's Matob, juniors and seniors oombined, resulted in a win for Searle, witb E. Harford second, and A. Petersen third. The ladies played for-the Misses Wyeth's trophy, fourteen oompetitcra taking part in the matob. This trophy was finally won by Miss Elsie Campbell, Mis Wyetb being seoond. The final games lor Mr Wyeth's gold brooch were played, Miss Wyetb being the winner of the prize. The prizes won at the competitions will bejpresented at the club's bull on the 31st iust. At the afternoon tea adjournment, Mr Nicholson, naptain, notified that a match would probably be played against Palmerston North on Thursday next. He asked the players to hold themselves in readiness if required to play. A vote of thanks was passed to the ladies for providing afternoon tea. At a committee meeting of the Ladies' Club the advisableness of instituting a Challenge Chain was considered. It was decided to make final arrangements at the next meeting. The ladies intend to conduct this competition on similar lines to the men and to play under similar rules. The following is the second draw ing for Mr D. McKenzie's Cup, to te played off by Soptemfcer 12th:— 0. Petersen 7 v. Christensen owes 14, Blewett 6 v. H. Duokett owes 3, E. Peterseu owes 12 v. G. Pain owes 1, A. Petersen owes 1 v. Searle owes 12, J. Campbell, junr,, 7 v. Bond 5, Harford 5 v. dune sor, N. Wyeth 4 a bye.
