RIOTS IN SPAIN.
Received August 24, 8.37 a.m. MADRID, August 23. Serious disturbances have occurred at Bilbao (town and principal port of the north of Spain). Barrioales have been erected by three thousand strikers, and martia 1 law js now in operation. No newspapers were published today. A collision between the poliae and the strikers resulted in several on eaoh side being killed and wounded. A number of strikers attempted to stop the train at Santander, a city 47 miles north-west of Bilbao, but the Civil Guard fired at the strikers, killing two and wounding three.
