NAUTICAL COURT.

AUCKLAND, August 23. The finding of the Nautioal Ocurt ia connection with the wreck of the Sir Henry, Aotea and Haeremai states that each vessel was in a seaworthy condition and fully equipped and manned. The evidence does not show that the vessels were overloaded, tut it appeared that a portion of the cargo was stowed on deck. As far as evidence disoloaed neither the masters nor the owners had a permit to carry deck cargo bb required by the Ant. With reapeot to this the Court makes the following observations: —The provisions „ of the Act relating to'deok cargoes [ and the regulations relating to overloading should be rigidly enforced; that in a port suoh as Auckland, with its large fleet of scows and small craft, it is necessary that competent and reliable officers should be appointed whose duty it would be to see the provisions of the Adt and the regulations fully complied with.
