QUEENSLAND'S DISABILITIES
Received August 20. 9.43 a.m. BRISBANE, August 20. A lengthy memorandum has been forwarded by the Mayor to the local authorities of the State, emphasising the disabilities suffered by ltnd as the result of federation, and appealing to Queenslanders to take up the tank of dissolving the anion.

PERfc ERENTIAL AGREEMENT,
Received August 21, 1,10 a.ixu MELBOURNE, August 20. Communications which have passed between Sir Joseph Ward and the Hon. A. Deakin have resulted in a complete agreement witd respect to the reciprocal tariff and preference arrangement, and ratifies the conferences between Ithe late Mr Seddon and the Hon. A. Deakin and Sir William Lyne. The agreement wi'.l be laid onthe r table of the Houses of both countries simultaneously on August 28th. The usual resolution will be at once moved, and the / preferences beoorce operative forthwith.
