WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Racing Olub was held on Thursday, at Greytown. Mr W. E. Bidwill oocupied the chair. The annual report showed that the year began with a credit balance of 14s 10(3, and closed with a debit balance of £512 6s Id. 'lhe buldiags and improvements during the" year cost £1,536 18s 4d. A contract had been let for enlarging the tea pavilion at a coat of £4;83 10s. The stakes givers amounted to £3,220, beina an increase of £4OO on the previous year, and £3,600 bad been allocated for the present season. Regret was expressed at the dbath of Mr J. P. Russell, the lace President, who had held the position for 40 years. The report and balance - sheet were adopted. It was decided to send a letter of condolence to the relatives of the late Mr Russell. The following officers were elected: President, Mr H. S. Wardell; VicePresidents, Messrs W. E. Bidwill, Q. Donald, J. S. Oundy; Judge, Mr G. 'lully; Clerk of Scales, Mr W. Dalrymple; Timekeeper, Mr T. Benton; Hon. Treasurer, Mr A. J. Toogood; Surgeons, Drs.; Bey and Palmer, and G. E. Deemer; Veterinary Surgeon, Mr J. Taylor; Stewards, Messrs P. Pearce, A. Morison. J. S. Oundy, A. McKenzie, G. Hume and Allen Donald; Auditors, Messrs G. W. Cobb aud C. J. KentJohnston. It was deoided, on the motion of Mr W. O. Bucnauan, seconded by Mr H. S. Izard, that a hearty vote of thanks be passed to the executive officers for the satisfactory manner iu which they had carried out their duties during the part year. 1 ( Mr W. E.
