SANITARY CONDITION OF THE BOROUGH.

THE INSPECTOR'S REPORT. The Borough Sanitary Inspector reported to the meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, last evening, that generally the cleanliness of the Borough was very good for the time of the year. With regard to infectious diseases, there had been a few more oases of scarlatina since his last report, but there was no doubt that the epidemic was abating. With a little more oare, it would soon, be stamped out. There waß a desire among the people living in some of the principal streets to have their houses numbered, and inspector suggested that the matter should receive the attention of the Council. The Engineer reported that tb© question of numbering the houses in the principal streets was being attended to.
