MANAWATU DEFEATS \\ ELLINGTON.
By Telegraph—Press Association
PALMERSTON N., Manawatu defeated Wellington at hockey, to-day, by 4 goals to 2. The ground was in a very soft, condition, but the game" nevertheless was fast, and at times exciting. The home team were undoubtedly the superior combination, and were on the aggressive most of the time. Their halfback line gave a particularly fine display, completely demoralising the Wellington forwards.
