Saturday.

A pretty wedding took plaoe at Kopuaranga this week, when Miss Helen Franklyn, seoond daughter of Mr G. Franklyn, was married to Mr Oharlea Wright, of the Oamaru Railway Department. The' bridesmaids were two sisters of the bride, and Mr A. Allan, of Tarunaki, was best man.

A well-attended meeting of settlers was held on Friday last, to arrange for the re-opening of the branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, which bad previously existed here. Mr J. 0. Fowler, of Marton, was present, and gavo an interesting address.
