MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
MEETING OF STEWARDS,
A meeting of the Stewards of the Mastorton Racing Club was held on Saturday. There were present:Messrs 0. F. Vallanoe (chairman), J. Maoara, 0. H. Smith, J. Cress, J. lorns, R. Buiok, W. Cooper, W. lorns, D„ Oaselberg, W. D. Watson, A. Reside, A. W. Cave, D. MoLacblan, A. J. Welch, W. Piatt, 0. A. Pownall. Mr P. Hill wrote accepting the -position of clerk of scales. Mr C. G. Monro wrote asking to be allowed to submit plans for improvements on the course. It was decided to take no action in the matter. P. Seoombe was recommended for a jockey's license. The stewards deoiJed to advise G. Murray, who applied for a jockey's license, to apply direct to the Wellington Rao ing Club, as he had obtained bis lioense from that club previously. The resignation of Mr W. Dowling as custodian of the oourse waa aocepted. A ballot was taken, and Mr W. E. Welch was appointed to the position.
