The Bishop of Zululand, the Right Rev. Wilmot Vy vyao, adheres to his charges regarding the cruel illtreatment of Zulu rebels, and has written to the Premier of Natal demanding a civil enquiry.
A GOVERNMENT PROPOSAL
REJECTED.
Received July 2t, 10.48 p.m. PIETERMARIIZBURG, July 24. The Natal Assembly rejected the Government's proposal to raise a permanent force of two hundred Nonquals, armed with rifles, though the Hon. T. Watt, Minister of Justice, vouched for their loyalty.
