Debt Oases.-—Judgment for plaintiff by default with costs was given in each of the following debt cases: —Patrick Hamill v. Harry E. Sutton, claim £5 9s 7d, costs £1 7s 6d; Patrick Walsh v. Wm. Wilson, claim £lO 16s, costs £1 l2s 6d; Arthur T. Asbworth v. John J. Brass, claim £1 16s, costs sa; G. B. Baker and Co. v. Tob'aa Miller, claim £2O 2asd, costs £2 14s; Niels Winter Albrechtsen v. W. J. Chapman, claim £5 17a 2d, judgment for amount, less 10s paid into Court, costs £1 4s.
Judgment Summons.—Arthur 0. Major v. Joseph Harrop, olaim £l3 18s 6d, ordered to pay 5a per first payment to be made on July 26th. Defended Oases.—ln the oase of Jessie Williams v. George Edgecombe, a olaim for £7 13s, plaintiff was non-suited; some v. Wm. Gillespie and A. S. Awdry, claim for £39 4s. judgment reserved. John William Burke, of Eltbarn, claimed from William Morris, butcher, of Masterton, the return of a horse or the sum of £6O. The horse was alleged to have been stolen at Eltham on or about March 10th, and was ultimately discovered in Masterton. It was impounded in Masterton, and was bought by defendant on April 28th for £lO 10s. After hearing evidence and legal argument, the Magistrate gave judgment for defendant. Mr B. J. Dolan appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr P. L. Hollings for the defendant. Leave to appeal was granted.
