MASTERTON STOCK SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report at their Maaterton stook sale, . esterday:—The yarding in sheep was very small, seveial entries not coming forward, owing to bad weather prevailing, flooded rivers, etc. What were penned found a ready sale, a clearance being made. No cattle offered. Light fat ewes made 16r, ewes in lamb, medium 13s 6d, others 8s to 9s, store ewes 10s, lambs 129 6d, others 7s Gd to 10s. .Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale at the Waipoua Yards, yesterday. Owing to the rough weather there was only a moderate yarding. Sheep were ohiefly {represented by hoggets and cattle by springing heifers. With one exception all sheep were disposed of, but a number of ppringing heifers were passed out unsold. Store ewes reached 9s 9d, ho gets 3s lid to 9s Id, springing heifers £3 10s to £3 lis 6d, pigs 8s 6d to 9s.
MASTERTON vVOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—W6 offered 60 bales wool, 100 bags, 2,000 sheepskins, 170 hides, and a quantity of horsehair and tallow, yesterday. There was a good attendance of buyers and bidding for everything offered was good with the exception of crutchings. Buyers have not too muoh confidence in this deeoription of wool, and operated with diffideuoe, prices consequently falling %d in the best and Id in inferior or seedy. Skins ruled at full rates. We quote:—Crossbred fleece 9d co lOd, crossbred lambs 9d to best crutchings [Bd to medium crutohings 7d to 7%d, inferior and seedy fa'd to 6%d, looks and pieces 5d to 6)£d. Skins: Good crossbreds 9%d to 10% d, medium crossbreds 9d to 9%d, short wools 8 dead skins 8d to B>£d. lamb skins 9>£d to butcher's green 8s ud to 9s 3d, rabbic skins up to Hides: Ihere was good competition, and prices ruled on a satisfactory level. Best ox 25s to 295, medium ox 23s 6d to 24s 6d, best cow 22s 6d to 255, medium cow 18s to 225, calf Bkins Is 6rl to ss. Horse hair: Is 7%d, tallow, 17s per cwt. Our next sale will bo held on August 29tb. The Walrarapa Farmers' Co-oper-ative Association, Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly wool, skin and hide sale, yesterday. They report as [follow There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was very spirited tor sheepskins and hides. We are very sorry to note there was a deoided drop of Id to in crutchings and fleece. We wish to point out to our clients that it is necessary to have their lots in not later than the Saturday preceding the sale, so as to give our classer ample time to do justice to the various lots that have to be catalogued. We quote as under:— Crutchings 5d to 7%d, looks and pieces 4%d to 6d, fleece wool 7d to lOd, dead wool 6d to 9_%d, rabbit skins 9>£d, horsehair Is 7d, sheepskins (butoher's green) 5s to Bs, orossbred shorts up to lOd, shorn lambs 8d to 9d, wooly lambs lOd, seedy and orossbred from 7d to 9d, dead and broken from 6}4d to pelts la to la 6d. Hides: Ox from 25s to 355, heavy cow 2Gs 6d to 295, oow (slippy) 16s 6d to 21s, stags 25 to 28s 6d, yearlings 7s to 9s, fair calves 3s 5d to 5b 3d, slippy calves 2s lid.
