OPAKI NOTES.

(Prom Our Own Correspondent). • OPAKI, Monday. The weather for the past fortnight has been splendid. Unfortunately it changed on Saturday, aud being unfavourable for quoit competitions, the committee met and decided to postpone the matches. One of the oldest settlers of Opaki, Mr K. Campbell, has disposed of his property here, aud is leaving shortly to take up his residenoe in the Wanganui dietriot. The settlers and old friends of Mr Campbell held a meeting a few days ago and decided not to allow the family, after having resided here for nearly half a century, to leave without some small token of esteem. It is the intention of the residents to entertaia them at a social at an early date.
