The tribuual which was sent' to Tantab to try tbe murderers of Captain Ball, and an English officer who was killed while ou a duckahooting expedition, has sentenced v ' the assailantß to be hanged. Four others implicated have been sentenced to servitude for life, three to fifteen years, and nine to shorter terms of iniprisonmnr, with from five to 'fifty lashes. The evidence at the enquiry showed f that the fire on the floor of the barn Had probably I been previously arranged. The distance from the ■pot where the British officers were attacked showed that it was impossible for the fire to have originated through the shooting. The accidental discharge of a rifle after it had been snatched from an officer wounded four natives. Major Pine Coffin and other officers seeing the natives exoited, surrendered their] rifles, and withdrew. All were pursued and assaulted and robbed. The officers and native witnesses Identified the ringleaders. Captain Bull was assaulted fonr miles further on from the place of •V the original interference. "' ATTACK PREMEDITATED. , Received Jane 29, 1.8 a.m. JLiONDON, June 28. Tbe Alexandria correspondent of The Times says that the evidence proved that the attaok was premeditated months ago. The Daily Mail stateß that the Court declared that tbe attack was premeditated.
