CHICAGO MEAT SCANDAL.
THE CHARGES AGAINST PACKERS. HEAVY PINES INFLICTED. BROKERS IMPRISONED. Received June 24, 4.31 p.m. NEW YORK, June 23. Armour, Limited, the Swift Company, Cudaby, and Nelson and Morris, Amerioan meat packers, who ware fnand guilty of accepting concessions from the Burlington Railroad Company on the export of shipments, were fined fifteen thousand dollars eaoh. The Burlington Railroad Company was fined a like amount. George Thomas, a freight broker, was fined fire thousand dollars and sentenced to four months' imprisonment. L, Taggart, another broker, was fined four thousand dollars and sentenced to : three months 1 imprisonment.
